As part of their spending efficiency and transition to digital processes policy, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare (MSPBS) consolidated a strategic alliance that reinforces their shared commitment to state modernization. As part of this cooperation, the MEF transferred a batch of reams of paper to the General Directorate of Management of Strategic Health Supplies (DGGIE) of the MSPBS, thus strengthening the operational capabilities of this agency.

The head of the MEF's Procurement Department, Jorge Vera, emphasized that this action is part of the measures adopted since August 2023 to reduce paper consumption, in accordance with Law No. 6562/2019. "In addition to promoting sustainability, this measure allows available resources to be utilized by other institutions that still rely on physical media to fulfill their functions," he noted.
The DGGIE expressed its gratitude for this collaboration and explained that the received input will be used in the logistics processes related to the delivery of medications to the country's health parks. Although progress is being made toward digitalization, there are still areas that require printed media in their daily operations.
This cooperative initiative between public sector agencies demonstrates how coordinated and efficient management contributes to institutional strengthening and improved service to citizens.
